Training more qualified staff is the goal of cooperation between the association Afghanic e.V. and the Dewanbegi Clinic in Afghanistan.
Problem: Primary medical care in Afghanistan has serious shortcomings. Patients often have to ensure long and difficult journeys to obtain medical care. The Dewanbegi Clinic serves around 17,000 inhabitants, including many displaced persons.
Main activities: The project is to give Afghan hospital staff a chance to attend further training. In courses and on the job they are to have an opportunity to expand their knowledge and implement more effective operations in partnership, so as to improve patient care. An ultrasound unit is also to be procured.
Short-term results: More efficient treatment for patients is to be attained and the workload of surrounding health facilities reduced.
Long-term results: The partnership is to help establish a stable system of health care in Afghanistan.
