The Indo-German project partnership between Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the KEM Hospital Research Centre in Pune uses webinars to provide dissexuality therapy training to therapists from all over India.
Background:
Studies indicate that one in two children in India have experienced sexual abuse in one form or another. This can have a lifelong impact on the physical, mental, social and sexual health and wellbeing of those affected. In light of this, preventive measures need to be taken. This can be done by providing psychosocial care services for paedophiles to help them control their sexual impulses.

Activities:
-\tPreparing 10 virtual training modules on dissexuality therapy, tailored to the Indian target group
-\tIdentifying suitable training candidates
-\tCarrying put 10 virtual training modules
-\tAssisting the trainees in recruiting patients

Impact:
By providing treatment options for paedophiles, the aim is to prevent child sexual abuse and the use of sex abuse images. In the long term, the intention is to build a network of trained therapists in India who can provide treatment services across the country.
