The Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin works together with the University Teaching Hospital of Butare and the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the National University of Rwanda. The partners are co-founders of the AMR network, participate in the regular network meetings and, like the other network members, implement the open source-based Laboratory Information System on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The project is funded by the GIZ regional program University and Hospital Partnerships in Africa (HKP). The aim of this program is to train healthcare professionals of the future and to strengthen state-of-the–art research on topics relevant to global health.
