Special funding for Syria

Our special funding for Syria is aimed at partnerships between German non-profit healthcare institutions or non-governmental organisations and Syrian partner institutions in the healthcare sector. In order to implement needs-based hospital partnerships in Syria, we focus on the expertise and network of the Syrian medical diaspora working in Germany.

Please apply for the special funding for Syria as soon as possible. Applications can still be submitted as follows:

For a full project duration of two years: until February 28, 2026

For a shortened project duration: until May 31, 2026

Project application and procedure

If you would like to submit an application for a German-Syrian hospital partnership, you can download an information sheet on the requirements at the bottom of this page. The required project application documents can be found in the application portal for special funding for Syria.

Upon receipt, the Hospital Partnerships team will review your project proposal and check whether it fulfils the formal requirements. If necessary, we will comment on your proposal so that you can revise it in order to develop an application that is eligible for funding.
