German medical and healthcare experts, who would like to apply for funding within the framework of their hospital partnerships, can apply for a sum of up to 50.000 Euro until 28th November 2022.
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the foundation Else Kröner-Fresenius (EKFS) jointly initiated the Hospital Partnerships funding program in 2016. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is responsible for the implementation and gives support in the fields of finance and contracts, project management and communications.
The funding line "Global" is twice a year open in spring and autumn.
Applications are only possible during this period via the online portal.
Note: Hospital partnerships with China can only be funded if they are implemented as triangular cooperation in another developing country (especially in Africa). Projects with Myanmar are only eligible for funding if they directly benefit the population; any contribution to legitimizing the military regime must be excluded. Hospital partnership projects in Afghanistan are only eligible for funding if they directly benefit the population; any contribution to legitimizing the de facto government must be excluded. The projects/project partners must ensure that women have the same opportunity to access project activities/services of the funded clinic partnership as men. Projects in Turkey cannot be funded.
